Course Synopsis: The NRA Range Safety Officer course teaches the basics duties a Range Safety Officer (RSO) performs. It provides a thorough introduction to:
<> The role of Range Safety Officers.
<> The range Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
<> The range safety briefings.
<> The range inspections and rules.
<> The emergency procedures.
<> How to clear firearm stoppages and correct malfunctions.
The skills accquired in this course require regular practice which should initially take place under the supervision of a qualified individual -- such as a NRA Chief Range Safety Officer (CRSO). Participants will be guided by the instructor to develop specific knowledge, skills and attitude through the use of hands-on exercises and practical applications.
Range Safety Officer Requirements: To become a Range Safety Officer, individuals must:
1. Be at least 21 years of age.
2. Demonstrate a solid background in firearm safety.
3. Satisfactorily complete a NRA Range Safety Officer course.
4. Complete the Range Safety Officer course written examination with a minimum score of 90%.
5. Have access to an electronic device that can be used to log in to nrainstructors.org and a valid email address to complete the credentialing process.
Course Format: The course format consist of lecture and practical exercises.
Course Fee Information: The course fee is $105.00 per student.
